The trouble with most of this 'stuff' is that the monetary value is unknown to the owners. They are fully aware of the sentimental value, and sometimes even the history, but the market value is often a mystery to them.
At Riches Antiques and Collectibles, we only offer market value* estimates for items that you intend to consign with us. We are sorry, but we are unable to provide free valuations on items that will not be consigned in our store. This is a specialty market that is covered by accredited antique appraisers who offer certified appraisals, but as a small business, we are just not in a position to do that. You may try the Antique Auction and Appraisal Event or the Regina Antique Mall or online services such as Value my Stuff.
If you will be consigning your goods with us, any information you can provide to us will prove invaluable in determining a fair market value. This includes place of origin of the article, first date you know of it to exist, previous ownership etc. We require that you leave your article on consignment with us for at least a 90 day period for those we have done estimates on. We will contact you after 90 days for a continuation of your consignment agreement. We reserve the right to assume ownership of any items for which we cannot contact the owner for a period of 90 days or longer. For items that you set the price of, there is no minimum consignment period, however, the maximum still applies.
Our consignment fee is 33.3% on Antiques and 40% on second hand items. For large furniture items or other items that take more than one person to handle, our fee is 40%. Please see our consignment form for details on how to consign any goods with us, or have us do an assessment on your articles.
